Nibi

Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2026

Nibi is an AI biography interview app. You share your life stories through conversations, and Nibi turns them into written biographies. We take the privacy of your personal stories seriously. This policy explains what data we collect, how we protect it, and what rights you have.

1. Who We Are

Nibi is operated from Finland. For questions about your data, you can reach us at hello@nibi.fi. Our supervisory authority is the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (Tietosuojavaltuutetun toimisto, tietosuoja.fi).

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to provide the service:

3. How We Use Your Data

We do not use your personal stories for advertising, profiling, or any purpose other than delivering the Nibi service to you.

4. How We Protect Your Data

Your conversations and biographies are sensitive. We protect them with multiple layers of security:

5. Third-Party Services

We use Anthropic's Claude models to power the AI that conducts your interviews and writes your biography. When you interact with Nibi, the text of your conversation is sent to Anthropic's API to generate responses. Anthropic processes this data according to its commercial terms: API inputs and outputs are not used to train their models.

A few other services process limited data on our behalf: Google Cloud converts Nibi's questions into speech; if you use voice mode, your browser's built-in speech recognition service (for example Google or Apple, depending on your browser) converts your speech into text; Stripe processes payments, so your card details never touch our servers; and Sentry (EU region) receives technical error reports. We never sell your personal data, and we do not share it with anyone else.

6. Cookies

With your explicit product-feedback consent, Google transcribes voice feedback and OpenAI analyzes its transcript into product feedback categories. Biography and interview text are excluded from this operations workflow. Feedback remains encrypted in Nibi. Withdrawing it removes its stored classification; historical aggregate reports may remain. Requests already being processed by a provider cannot be recalled. Contact us to withdraw feedback.

We use an essential httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. If you explicitly enable optional product analytics, we also use a first-party analytics cookie and send limited product actions to PostHog. We do not send names, email addresses, story content, voice recordings, or feedback transcripts to PostHog. You can disable analytics using the checkbox in the app. Disabling stops future collection; contact us to request deletion of previously collected data.

7. Your Rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and other applicable laws, you have the right to:

8. Data Retention

9. Children's Privacy

Nibi is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child under 16 has created an account, please contact us at hello@nibi.fi and we will promptly delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you by email or through a notice in the app. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.

11. Contact Us

Optional weekly emails

After verifying a new account, you may receive an account welcome. Weekly memory prompts and occasional new-article emails require a separate optional subscription. We store your consent version and time, selected email language, subscription status and delivery history separately from your stories and analytics consent. Emails do not include your interview or biography content. We use our existing email delivery service and do not add open-tracking pixels.

You can stop weekly emails through the unsubscribe link in each message or your account settings. This does not disable sign-in or essential account emails. A message already handed to the email provider cannot be recalled. Deleting your account removes your subscription and delivery records.
